BIOMEDICAL 3D PRINTING COURSE FOR THE MASTER IN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
EDDM Training inaugurates the 3D printing bio module for the Master in Engineering and Additive Manufacturing MIFA.
Due to the particular characteristics of the pieces that are used in the medical bio sector, 3D printing in this field constitutes one of the niches of greater development of this technology. Within this area we can find from customized titanium prostheses and surgical instruments to real-scale models for programming of surgeries or bio printing of living tissues.
The great boom of 3D printing technology in the medical sector implies a concurrence of professionals in medicine and engineering; from EDDM it has been wanted to enhance including in the Master in Engineering and Additive Manufacturing MIFA a course of 3D printing for the medical sector, which covers all the novelties that are taking place in the sector.
Within this module students will learn about design in biomechanics, 3D models from DICOM medical tests, materials and processes and bio printing of living tissues. In addition to completing the training they will carry out a practice on the design and manufacture of surgical material and will be able to experience first-hand how to adapt a normal 3D FDM printer to be used in tissue printing.
