Jul 23, 2018 | 0 comments

Last month of April and May, EDDM Training students were lucky enough to be able to visit the Airbus facilities in Getafe and Aciturri, in Tres Cantos.

In this way the students of the Master in Mechanical Aeronautical Design MEDMA and the Master in Aerospace Structural Analysis MECEA could see first hand how designs and calculations similar to those made in the masters are materialized and tested by these leading companies in the sector .

The activities of Airbus in Getafe, leader of the world aeronautics, are very varied and range from the design and development to the manufacture, assembly and testing of the horizontal stabilizers of many Airbus aircraft. Airbus Defense and Space develops in Getafe activities aimed at the Trancha 2 of the Eurofighter and the transformation of A330 aircraft into multi-mission transport and re-supply aircraft MRTT (Multi Role Tanker Transport).

In May, the students enjoyed a new visit, this time to Aciturri as a complement to their studies in composite materials. First level aeronautical provider (TIER 1) and with more than 30 years of experience in aerospace projects, in Aciturri students could see the process of manufacturing composite materials, reception and maintenance of material, cutting rooms, tools, stacking process , autoclave curing, non-destructive tests, manufacture and assembly of composite parts and integration of advanced structures that are carried out at its headquarters in Tres Cantos, Madrid.

Since its inception, EDDM Training is committed to bringing the position of the mechanical designer and the designer to the final manufactured product and its production process. Only that understanding of the manufacturing process leads to a concurrence between design and manufacturing that results in an optimal product.
